Strength and Sports Performance Training
Strength and Sports Performance Training at Divergent helps you move efficiently, build strength safely, and perform at a higher level over time. Programs are individualized based on how you move and what limits you, allowing training to support performance, recovery, and long-term durability. We work with athletes and active individuals throughout Carmel, Indianapolis, Westfield, Noblesville, Zionsville, Fishers, and surrounding communities, including runners, cyclists, and field and court athletes. Sessions focus on sound mechanics and progressive, sport-specific training so improvements translate beyond the gym.
Train based on how your body actually moves, not a generic program.

Measure First: Performance & Movement Evaluation
Before building for performance, we establish a clear baseline. Our Performance and Movement Evaluation provides objective insight into how your body is performing right now and what may be limiting progress.
This is not a general screen or a one-time test day. It is a structured evaluation performed and interpreted by a Doctor of Physical Therapy, using repeatable metrics commonly found in athletic and return-to-sport environments. The goal is clarity, understanding strengths, limitations, and how your body is adapting to training and life demands.
What this evaluation tells you:
Objective performance data you can track over time
Clear strengths, limitations, and asymmetries
How movement quality and load tolerance affect performance and durability
What matters most for your next phase of training
Metrics may include:
Upper and lower body strength and power
Jump and reactive performance using accelerometer-based technology
Balance, asymmetry, and load tolerance
Targeted movement limitations affecting performance
InBody body composition analysis when appropriate
This evaluation is valuable for competitive athletes and active adults alike, anyone who wants data-informed decisions instead of guesswork.
Build Performance With Purpose
Once your baseline is established, we use that data to guide training that actually moves the needle. Your results shape the program, what we prioritize, how we load, and when we progress.
Training is not generic or pre-written. It evolves as you do. As strength, movement quality, and capacity improve, your plan adapts to match your goals, sport demands, and long-term health needs.
After your evaluation, we may focus on:
Targeted strength and power development
Improving movement efficiency and load tolerance
Addressing asymmetries before they become injuries
Sport-specific or activity-specific performance goals
Clear benchmarks to reassess and measure progress
Optional performance check-ins every 6 to 12 weeks allow us to track trends, adjust intelligently, and ensure training stays aligned with your goals.
